a not-so boring day…

Monday, September 12th, 2005

I woke up at 10:20am …yeah, "early" I feel alright though—hard to imagine…… and here I am, by myself in the house—pretending…singing in a karaoke (borrowed from mom coz she hardly use)…teehee…i suck!….lol….good thing i don’t have to do it in public, I’ll cause everyone to VOMIT….lol….anyways, it’s fun…i scored 100% with vanessa williams’ song "saved the best for last"….YIPEEEEE!…. and 95 on phil collins’ "Do you remember">>>i love this song….if u don’t sing, not loud enough or you skip a few lines in the song, ur score goes down…hehehe….at least I knew these songs a long time ago…though, I still think I sound really corny but, I got 100….let’s leave it to that….lol  my lil kiddies wants to use the microphone too…my lil girl sang abc’s…awwww….*sigh*

Thinking about last night, have you ever had that feeling were you wish time would stop and it stays like that forever…when u had a wonderful moment?…Well, time goes by, I just have to hold on to my memories…*sigh*…I have my yahoo IM on listening to Love Songs…I’m a fanatic, flipping in between 80’s hits if I didn’t like the song.  Music calms me down, relieves stress and what else?!? Lower blood pressure….lol…..well, I have to work again tonight, eventhough someone wants me to call in but, I just can’t…something is holding me—inside from calling in….don’t want to elaborate more in here….:)

a lil’ Fundraising dilemma

Saturday, September 10th, 2005

About Youth Football fundraising…. "I have to work tonight, I have to end up staying up after I get off from work and bake something"…they want it tomorrow morning…another dumb person trying to tell people at the last minute…thanks Mrs.JR, u did it again!….keep it up and I might start slapping you up side your head!"….she just mentioned it today, I have to rush in the store to get the stuff i need.  I was told that, she was going to let everyone know ahead of time….yeah right…I really wish they’ll get a new secretary or something.  Someone who is more responsible, understanding and a team builder.  She doesn’t possess any of these….she is full of mess!…based on the facts I’ve heard, even last year!.

Anyways, I’ve decided to bake some brownies earlier tomorrow morning when I get off…at least, it’ll be fresh….still waiting for that tub of chunky chocolate cookie dough and other stuff that I ordered from a good friend at work, I was a little too late, they made changes with the deadline so, i got confused, they paid it for me and I’ll have to reimburse…that’s nice.  I’m thinking if I still have some more eggs left in the fridge… I gotta get going, I have to wash off and get ready for work….i’m starting to smell myself….LOL…

Gasoline nuisance ….

Thursday, September 8th, 2005

I got this from my bulletin, i dont know if its true but, it sounds so good and believable….as a driver myself, I’m tired of the gas prices so it’s somewhat of an issue for me because Exxon is the primary gasoline station that I usually use…..

Message: I hear we are going to hit close to $4.00
a gallon
by the end summer. Want gasoline prices to come
down? We need to take some intelligent, united
action

Phillip Hollsworth, offered this good idea:

This makes MUCH MORE SENSE than the "don’t
buy gas on a certain day" campaign that was
going around last April or May!

The oil companies just laughed at that because
they knew we wouldn’t continue to "hurt" ourselves
by refusing to buy gas. It was more of an
inconvenience to us than it was a problem for
them. BUT, whoever thought of this idea, has
come up with a plan that can really work.

Please read it and join with us!

By now you’re probably thinking gasoline priced at
about $1.50 is super cheap. Me too! It is currently
$2.75 for regular unleaded in my town.

Now that the oil companies and the OPEC nations
have conditioned us to think that the cost of a
gallon of gas is CHEAP at $1.50-$1.75, we need to
take aggressive action to teach them that
BUYERS control the marketplace…. not sellers.

With the price of gasoline going up more each day,
we consumers need to take action. The only way
we are going to see the price of gas come down is
if we hit someone in the pocketbook by not
purchasing their gas!

And we can do that WITHOUT hurting ourselves.

How? Since we all rely on our cars, we can’t just
stop buying gas. But we CAN have an impact on
gas prices if we all act together to force a price
war.

Here’s the idea:

For the rest of this year, DON"T purchase ANY
gasoline from the two biggest companies (which
now are one), EXXON and MOBIL. If they are not
selling any gas, they will be inclined to reduce
their prices. If they reduce their prices, the other
companies will have to follow suit.

But to have an impact, we need to reach literally
millions of Exxon and Mobil gas buyers. It’s really
simple to do!! Now, don’t whimp (sic) out on me at
this point… keep reading and I’ll explain how
simple it is to reach millions of people!!

I am sending this note to about thirty people. If
each of you send it to at least ten more (30 x 10 =
300)… and those 300 send it to at least ten more
(300 x 10 = 3,000) … and so on, by the time the
message reaches the sixth generation of people,
we will have reached over THREE MILLION
consumers!

If those three million get excited and pass this on
to ten friends each, then 30 million people will have
been contacted! If it goes one level further, you
guessed it….. THREE HUNDRED MILLION
PEOPLE!!! Again, all you have to do is send this to
10 people and DON"T purchase ANY gasoline from
EXXON and MOBIL. That’s all.

How long would all that take? If each of us sends
this email out to ten more people within one day of
receipt, all 300 MILLION people could conceivably
be contacted within the next 8 days!!! I’ll bet you
didn’t think you and I had that much potential, did
you! Acting together we can make a difference.

If this makes sense to you, please pass this
message on.

PLEASE HOLD OUT UNTIL THEY LOWER THEIR
PRICES TO THE $1.30 RANGE AND KEEP
THEM DOWN. THIS CAN REALLY WORK

Disaster from Hurricane Katrina…

Wednesday, September 7th, 2005

I just got through watching Live news from khou.com and The Oprah Winfrey show (she was on-sight in New Orleans as well as Jesse Jackson)…again…I’m trying to see an update on what is going on over at Louisiana…This state has become a "Disaster" area…military troops still urging mandatory evacuations with residents/people that are still in their homes—homes that are still half-way on the water!…some were really stubborn, some were dillusioned and some just don’t give a s*** about getting help from FEMA (had just stopped giving out $2,000max debit cards) or Red Cross…saying "We can make it"…it was even more shocking when they came to this older lady saying…"I will die, I wanna die down here before ya’ll take me anywhere…this is my home"… Anyways, I watched CBS news too…now, there were some parts of the interviews with citizens still living there that were so funny! at the same time "stupid"…and it was like a reality show to laugh at…they came to this old black lady–probably in her early to late 70’s, she was one of the people complained about how the military personnel was so out of hand—in other words "rude".  She said, "They come pointin’ those guns (raising her hand high as if making a target) pointin’ at sayin’ Give up the dope and ya guns and come out!…now how in the hell! would they say that?!, why is it that when they come to a black person, they thinkin’ we drug dealers or somethin’…"Anyways, you should’ve seen the video, it was a jaw-dropping moment to me…as she was being interviewed, she had a bottle on the other hand on what appears to be a vodka…riiiiiight…lol…*sigh* I don’t know if she is lying or not, but, most of those service-men were really doing the best they can to rescue more people that are STILL stranded on top of the roof tops…bodies floating in the water and some on the streets already decomposing….its really unimaginable.

Below: i got from khou.com…i don’t mind staying in one of these!….just kidding lol….

Cruise ship shelter plan scuttled

05:27 PM CDT on Wednesday, September 7, 2005

By Jason Whitely / 11 News

GALVESTON — The Federal Emergency Management Agency is no longer offering evacuees at the Astrodome the opportunity to move onboard two Carnival Cruise ships docked in Galveston. FEMA cancelled plans Wednesday after very few evacuees there expressed interest in moving.

KHOU-TV

Federal officials have canceled plans to house about 4,000 evacuees from Houston on cruise ships docked in Galveston.

The government is now considering sending the ships to other ports or possibly using the ships, which combined can accommodate more 5,000, for relief workers.

FEMA had tried for two days to bus displaced New Orleans residents living at the Astrodome to Carnival’s Sensation and Ecstasy ships docked in Galveston.

"Even though it’s a cruise ship," FEMA spokesman Randy Welch said, "they’ve got friends and family and new friends there [at the Astrodome]. It’s safe and secure. They want to settle in for a while. This is what the counselors tell us. We’ve had people working with the individuals and the professionals tell us after a traumatic experience stability is really a wonderful thing."

Initially, FEMA reported 20 senior citizens were interested in moving onboard the ships. Wednesday morning, 125 evacuees at the Astrodome said they were interested in learning more about Carnival’s ships. But the fear of water was reportedly led to many becoming reluctant.

"Some of the people are saying yeah they don’t want to go near the water," Welch told KHOU. "As you think about it of course it was water that trapped them, that almost killed them and made this horrifying experience. So it’s understandable."

Welch said FEMA has had calls from people in Galveston who were evacuated and now living with friends or in hotels interested in living on the ships.

The ships were to remain docked for six months in Galveston. Welch said there would be alcohol, no theaters, and no swimming pools available for evacuees. But three restaurants would be open onboard along with the video arcade, recreational facilities and lounging areas.

FEMA said this is the first time it has used cruise liners for shelters in a disaster.

It leased the Sensation, the Ecstasy, and the Holiday ships from Carnival for six months at a total cost of $192 million. Carnival spokeswoman Jennifer de la Cruz said that’s the amount the company estimates it would have made if it left the ships in service. She said Carnival will not make a profit by leasing its ships to FEMA.

Carnival’s Holiday ship is docked in Mobile, Alabama.

Fantasizing….what else can i say?

I had more rest today than yesterday.  I feel pretty good!, a rousing mood that’s hard to explain—it’s like taking a hot jaccuzi with a champagne or sleeping in a soft silky bed with flower petals all over…lol…are u turned on?!?!….lmao……

Eventhough I didn’t get a chance to ride my bike, it’s really been awhile since I used it.  I wished I didn’t have to work but, I’ll be off tomorrow and the day after…yeah!…before i updated this blog, i was listening and watching a music video by Maroon 5…"She will be loved"…I still like the song…but, I didn’t like the ending of the video…teehee…altogether…the song is sweet…

Labor Day…

Monday, September 5th, 2005

It’s Labor Day…I did my part last Friday…it was "my labor day"…lol…well, as usual, a bunch of my in-laws coming from all the way from Sweeny,TX and some from Houston, came over.  They did most of the barbecue–spare ribs, fried chicken and sausage–while we became free loaders…lol … I had told them that I would make a potato salad, they did it anyways.  I couldn’t think of anything else but "fried rice"…I got a little pissed that I didn’t get a chance to eat my own cooking!…but, it was worth it, they all liked it…teehee…I didn’t feel like eating much seriously, if i gained more weight, the buttons on my pants might pop!….lol…however, i got tempted to have a little piece of the pineapple cake….yum!…

Anyways, I got a little preoccupied…stuff running through my head…not bad but, that "thing" it’s driving me crazy…in a good way.  I felt like laying down in bed, even before i feel like i want to write this down in my blog aka diary.  Somehow, I was a little tired…again, I woke up too early…at least not as early as yesterday morning…last night i worked, when i got there, i didn’t feel like talking and in no mood to smile but, it got better as time went by, the best actually.  A few more minutes before I have to punch out…it got a little "sour", i don’t know why…and i was back to "Gloomy-ville".  Even more sullen when i turned the radio on in the car as i was driving out of the parking lot…"Diary" by Alicia Keys…hah!…thank you?…this is really nice…*sigh*

Oral hygiene and other stuff…

Saturday, September 3rd, 2005

I feel a lot more lighter and refreshed today…I had cooked all three meals, did my "as usual" routine in the house as well as to my kids…my youngest son–i still have a hard time brushing his teeth, though he understands me when I say, "Ok, now spit it out"…and he spits the water out, it was really cute…:).  He still swallows some of the water a little bit.  I’m using one of those non-fluoride toothpaste with a label saying it provides cavity-protection.  My other two toddlers can brush their own teeth pretty well.  It’s so amazing that they’ve learned so much and most of the time just by themselves mimicking at me or their daddy.  I have to watch my oldest, he is 4 yrs.old, who can’t stand a hint of dirt in his hand and goes straight to the sink and washes up.  He uses up most of the liquid soap in the bathroom!…lol.  He is doing good so far…he found out other alternative to using the soap and water….paper towels…:P

Alex came home from their youth football "scrimmage?"–been gone for almos 9 hours, it’s not a real game—sort-of like a try-out or something like practice game…he says they’ll be ready for the first game in a few weeks, he found out what he needs to work on for improvements.  I’m hoping that I can see their game, I didn’t get any chance last year.  Well, I have to work tonight, at least I’m with my favorite crew…yeah!…I still can’t believe one of our nurses in the night shift quit last week, I really don’t blame her, people can piss you off, esp. in the office…we’ve lost a wonderful nurse–she was really cool aka nice all together…we’re stuck with the madam "M", she can be nice sometimes but, once she is in that "other" mood, it’s a wholata sh**, i guess in any type of workplace, there is that someone that you just can’t stand ( not that I have any right now, hopefully never will…lol) it’s all up to you to learn how to get along and move along….anyways, it’s all good….gotta go, later blog…i might start calling this my "diary"…lol.

A natural cycle

Friday, September 2nd, 2005

Don’t read if u feel like this is a little nasty…just add your comments no biggie’ :P

Alas, I’ve finally endured several days of my cycle…sigh.  I know, i know "…a natural process that occurs in all healthy adult women…" –alana wingfoot. How many years do I have to do this?!…lol.  Yeah, it’s uncomfortable, nope, I’m not in "Moody-ville" but don’t ever slap me in the @ss….lol…Hey, it’s not that bad, it’s just something that we ladies have to go through and spend, spend spend…in a good way, i have to see someone’s else’s picture when you can’t have it anymore.  Little forseen complications like hot flashes and hormone pills…oh, by the way, feel free to look into the link above and start monologing did i spell it right?  if not correct me and write me a comment….teehee….girl power!…

Is the sky falling?

Thursday, September 1st, 2005

Just when I thought things would’nt get any worse, it did…but not in a typical scenario.  I was told (while in the comfort of the toilet bowl, I overheard his voice….lol) I’m guessing it’s true—you want to know what it is?  The gas prices went up…..lol…seriously though, it’s not funny–it went up to $3.00.  It was Alex talkin’–opened the door and he went on (in a country-fied accent) and then up there in Louisiana, ya’ know, after they got hit with the that hurricane, helicopters flying all over there to help ‘em out but, them people over there started shootin’ at em’, boy that don’t make no sense!….I asked him, are you for real?  Where did you get this from?  He said from the news…duh!…I know I was still doin’ "my business", I told him that this world has gotten so twisted and it’s a shame I’m still living in it….he laughed, I waited a little after his giggle and then I said, and you know what else is twisted?  he said what?  That you need to start knocking on the door before you bust in here like it was another room!…he laughed and said, shut up and he shut the door.  Of course you will be asking why didn’t I lock the door, because the lock doesn’t work!…doy!…anyways, a few minutes, I’m out in the room, get myself settled and washed my hands…I was thinking about that article I read in a magazine at work "Is the sky falling", it says something about an asteroid MN4—I don’t really know what this means….it was discovered last December 2004, that was predicted as a NEO meaning Near Earth Object, said to might come to a collision course on what better day! to those who believe in it–April of 2029 on Friday the 13th…..it says it is being kept close watch.  I mentioned it to some people about it, I hear the same thing…well, when it happen it happen.  It is really hard for me to just ignore it and face the truth or be brave about it.  It’s unfortunate enough because, I’m a mama!  I have 3 kids, It is kind of silly—after I read the article, I made calculations on how old will I be, my family especially my kids….hah!  I see, I’ll be 48 and my kids in their 20’s…at least.  I acted like it was really real!.  Feeling odd— oh, well, at least I’ll be able to see them graduate high school—-but, I’m still too young…lol…whatever, I just want to be with my family when it happens.  It’s even unbelievable that everyday, there are lots of asteroid flying in our orbit as we speak…I found out in the website Near Earth Objects Program a shocking revelation of impact calculations:  You have to really read to understand this table, I myself couldn’t even figure it out…..click the links in green…
